History: The Oka Shichibukai are seven powerful and well-known pirate captains who have allied themselves with the World Government. Warlords are required to assist the government in times of war, as well as pay the World Government a tenth of their plunder. In return, the Shichibukai and their crews are pardoned of crimes and their bounties are removed.
Expecting new members?: Pirates can choose to apply for Shichibukai if there are open slots. Applicants must be able to show their strength against other pirates and pledge loyalty to the World Government. The World Government can also offer a worthy pirate crew the position.
